Dr. Scott Hiramoto was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. He grew up spending his free time playing all sports and continued playing baseball at Punahou throughout his high school years. He went on to study at University of Southern California after earning an academic scholarship and received a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2010 before moving across town to UCLA School of Dentistry to receive his dental degree in 2014. He then went on to pursue an elective hospital dentistry residency at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu to learn more advanced techniques and procedures and to treat more medically complex patients and patients with special needs. Following residency, provided dental care on Lana’i at the Lana’i Community Health Center and aided in improving the dental care of the underserved population while also working part-time as an associate at Aiea Newtown Dental Group.
In his free time, he enjoys attending sporting events (Go USC Trojans, Oakland A’s, Phoenix Suns, and New York Giants!!) and playing golf and softball. He also holds full privileges and is a teaching attending at the Queen’s Medical Center Dental Residency. He is a member of the American Dental Association and serves on the Hawaii Dental Association Education Committee. He is a member of the American Society of Implant and Reconstructive Dentistry Fellowship Program.
He enjoys getting to know each and every one of his patients in order to treat them on an individual basis and developing a conservative, affordable and preventive plan to better sustain a healthy oral environment.
Dr. Zachary Lee was born and raised on Oahu. He graduated from ‘Iolani School, received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology from Santa Clara University in 2011, and obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco in 2016. After graduating from dental school, he was fortunate to return home to complete a General Practice Residency at the Queen’s Medical Center to further his training in all aspects of dentistry under the guidance of many local general dentists and specialists. Dr. Lee is a member of the American Dental Association, Hawaii Dental Association, and the American Society of Implant and Reconstructive Dentistry.
Dr. Lee loves spending time with his wife, (soon to be) two children, and their two dogs. Outside of the office, you are most likely to find him on the soccer field, golf course, or out for a run around the neighborhood. He recently ran the Boston Marathon and hopes to eventually run all six major marathons.
While dentistry can sometimes be challenging and complex, Dr. Lee strives to work closely with his patients to ensure that they receive personalized, quality care in a friendly and comfortable environment.
Dr. Ertel was born and raised in Southern California graduating from Whittier College with a bachelors degree in Chemistry. He began his dental education at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry earning his D.D.S. in 1980. Dr. Ertel’s interest in the care of medically compromised and special needs patients led him to the University of California at Los Angeles and the completion of residency training in General Practice and Hospital Dentistry. After moving to Oahu in 1982 he began his association with Aiea Newtown Dental Group where he remains today.
Besides private practice, Dr. Ertel is on the staff at Kaiser Moanalua Hospital and also at Queen’s Medical Center. At Queen’s, he mentors residents in the Hospital Dentistry residency program. Since 2012, Dr. Ertel has been involved with the Aloha Medical Mission providing dental care in under developed countries including the Philippines, Guatemala and Ecuador.
Dr. Ertel is a member of the American Dental Association and the Hawaii Dental Association. In 2017 he inducted as an honorary Fellow of the International College of Dentists.
Dr. Ertel’s wife, Dr. Lynn Fujimoto-Ertel, is a pediatric dentist retired from private practice but now directing the NYU-Lutheran Pediatric Dental Residency in Hawaii. They have a married son who lives in Southern California. Outside of the office, Dr. Ertel enjoys sports, his church and volunteering for community activities.
